Lectures and lab sessions will be held at the Technical University of Košice.

Accommodation

Accommodation for all the school participants will be available at the dorms of the Technical University of Košice (address). 

The dorms are 20-minutes away from the school venue by public transport. Tram stop is located 3min walk from the dorms.

The accommodation consists of 2-bedroom units recently renovated (single person per room), with shared bathroom and kitchenette within the unit (pictures available here).

Cost: 12.5 EUR / person / night (including city tax)

Check-in: July 9, after 2pm. Check-out: July 16, before 12pm.

General information

Košice is the second-largest city in Slovakia, after the capital Bratislava. It is the economic and cultural centre of eastern Slovakia, located on the edge of the Slovak Ore Mountains, and near the border with Hungary, home to three universities, many museums, and galleries.

Nearest airport: Košice International Airport (KSC) – about 15min drive from the school venue.

Slovakia is s a landlocked country in Central Europe, bordering with Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the southwest, and the Czech Republic to the northwest. The official language is Slovak, but you have good chances of finding English speakers in public places. The local currency is EURO. Most places accept card, but we do recommend verifying before making a purchase.
